Profile
Narsiso Martinez, 47, Mixed Media Artist in Los Angeles. He focuses on drawings and installation work with a recurring theme of agricultural landscapes. Often using discarded produce boxes from grocery stores. He uses his art as a form of activism and support for farm workers. This is especially impactful, because Narsiso pulls from his own experiences as a former farm worker.
He was born in Oaxaca Mexico, and moved to the United States when he was just 20 years old. In 2012, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Cal State University Long Beach. Then in 2016 he earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in drawing and painting.
His work has been exhibited both locally and internationally. His work is in the collections of LACMA, Hammer Museum, MOLAA, Long Beach Museum of Art, and more. He currently resides in Los Angeles California, and is represented by the Charlie James Gallery.
